For the last week or so I’ve been waking up before my alarm begins to scream at me. I do this by just telling myself I want to get up at that time. Today is no different. I awoke and the alarm wasn’t even set - I didn’t get up, though. It’s Sunday!

I can make excuses all I want as to why I didn’t get up out of bed this morning like normal. It’s Sunday could be the excuse if I wanted it to be. I’m not making excuses because the truth is I wanted to sleep a bit more. Casey Neistat said one time, “When it comes to sleep, a fool sleeps when he has to and a wise man sleeps when he can.” I was sleeping cause I can. When you set your mind to do something, it will. I know there are a lot of people who think otherwise and they’re right. Because since they THINK that it’s impossible, it is.

Our mind is a beautiful thing. It’s used to solve problems and it’s used to have fun. The power of the mind is scary sometimes. Jesus said, “with faith as small as a mustard seed we could move mountains.” Whether he meant literal mountains are not is another debate. The mountains I’m going to be talking about here is struggles. When you’re behind on your bills and on the verge of giving up, these are the mountains you can move. It only takes you believing it can be done. Ask the mountain to move and it will. You could ask your boss for more hours to make extra money, or you could sell something you’re not using. These mountains are climbed by thousands if not millions of people daily. Everybody struggles with something, some more than others, true. It’s the choices we make with the power of the mind that can move mountains or simply walk around them.

When you set your mind to do something, you’ll find a way to get it done. At the age of 15, I told myself and others that I would have a blue Chevy Silverado, extended cab pickup. I’m 34 now and if you look in my driveway you’ll see that pickup. I was 26 when I bought that old truck. I love it. I love the power of our minds. We can do great things if we believe we can do great things. We can struggle if we believe we are struggling. It’s totally up to us as to how we feel about anything we are doing or anything we want to do. I took Jeff Goins advice and begin writing at least 500 words a day. Sometimes I surpass 500 words most of the time and it’s great. You can do what you set your mind to do, just figure out what you want and go for it.

Wake up your mind and understand it’s power. You can do anything you set your mind to do. Control the world - your world - with your mind. You are the boss and you make the rules. You can’t do anything if you think you can’t. The same goes with, you can do anything if you think you can. Harness the power of the mind and let’s do great things, for ourselves and the world.
