Being bombarded with everyone’s problems because they don’t want to deal with it can get you down. It can cause you to develop stress and make you think your brain is mush. There is something you can do about it. When others want to pass their struggles on to you so they can get back to what they were doing - their stress-free life - and leave you to it. Show them what you are made of.
Many times people bring their troubles to me. I take them off their chest and carry on. I don’t let it bother me because I know tomorrow or the weekend or even next week, I’ll be out of the situation, out of their struggle and they will be relieved that they no longer have to deal with it. I like to step up and carry the weight of others if it makes them feel better. I smile and carry on. They smile and carry on - weightless and free to get back to the life they want.
Jesus once carried the weight of the world and freed us from our sinful ways. Do onto others as you want to be done to you. Give your troubles away for someone else to deal with, someone like Jesus, who suffered on the cross because he cared for you and me. Jesus didn’t complain when he was taken and beaten. No, he asked for the forgiveness of his attackers. Forgive them for they know not of what they do. I like to think that at times I too can be like Jesus and carry the weight of others - their problems - so that they can live a healthy life. I know that tomorrow or next week or year from now - as Jesus knew about his Kingdom in Heaven - that I’ll be free from the problems of others and the problems of mine, that they’ll be free to experience their little part of Heaven on earth, even if it’s for a little moment.
If people looked at the world through the eyes of Jesus, they’ll give second thoughts to every moment in their lives, especially the moments they want to give away to others - those stressful moments. Think about what Jesus would do in those moments. He would say give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, give to God what is God’s. Whose head is on your troubles, struggles or problems? It’s not mine or Caesar’s, it’s yours and God says to give him your problems, let him take care of them because he want’s you to be happy. Give your struggles to God. Give your problem’s the finger and know that God will take care of them for you, but in order for him to, you have to let go, like you do when you give your problems to someone else to deal with - let them go - and God will work his magic.
When the problems of others are given to me, I carry them, even if I am beaten and feel hung out to dry, I carry them and asked that they are forgiven for they know not of what they do. It is said the God doesn’t give you more than you can handle, I disagree. I believe that God will give you more than you can handle so that you call on him. Without the struggles and problems and pain of the world, you wouldn’t call on God and he will become lonely. Stop bitching about your problems and deal with them. Stop forcing someone else to carry your weight and carry it as Jesus once did. Stop giving what is Caesar’s to God and what is God’s to others. When life gets you down, give to God what is God’s.
